Following his football suspension, Sandro Tonali has been spotted working with Shepherd Offshore engineers in photographs. In October, Tonali faced a ten-month ban from playing for Newcastle United after the Italian FA penalized him for breaching betting regulations. Despite his inability to participate until the following year, Tonali has remained in the team’s vicinity. Recently, he has taken up a new role to stay occupied during his suspension.
Magpie Media shared a photo on social media showing Tonali wearing a helmet and a hi-vis jacket alongside other workers, captioned, “@sandrotonali hard at graft.” The Sun reported the update, stating that Tonali was seen working with Shepherd Offshore engineers on the banks of the River Tyne.
Last week, Tonali was handed a further two-month suspended penalty for admitting to breaking the FA’s betting rules. Along with a £20,000 fine, he received a warning about his future conduct. This additional penalty will only be enforced if Tonali continues to violate the rules.
