Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou is confident that the club will support his “drastic” plans for player sales and acquisitions during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Despite starting their first season under Postecoglou with an unbeaten Premier League run until November, Tottenham’s recent poor performances have dimmed their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
While Spurs may consider the 2023/24 campaign a relative success, Postecoglou is aiming for more and is advocating for significant changes within the club.
“We’ve already made tough decisions, letting some experienced players leave the club at the beginning of the year. But if we’re really going to change, that means change,” he explained.
The coach stressed the importance of building a squad capable of executing his football style, which may require player exits to facilitate new arrivals.
When asked about the support from Tottenham’s board, Postecoglou expressed confidence in their backing, stating, “I feel like the club has bought into my vision, and it’s up to me to maintain that.”
