Karim Benzema has returned to his former club, Real Madrid, for treatment on his ongoing muscle injuries.
Benzema was absent from Al Ittihad’s recent 3-1 defeat to Al Shabab and has faced numerous setbacks throughout his debut season due to muscle issues.
To address his injury concerns, Al Ittihad has arranged for Benzema to seek expert medical opinion from Real Madrid’s clinic and his former doctor in Spain.
Benzema, contracted with Al Ittihad until 2026, boasts an impressive record of 354 goals in 648 appearances for Real Madrid over 14 years, securing four La Liga titles and five Champions League trophies.
This season, Benzema has contributed 13 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances for Al Ittihad, who currently sit fifth in the Saudi Pro League, trailing leaders Al Hilal by a significant 30 points.
