The Lagos State Government has disclosed plans to completely shut down the third mainland bridge.

The shut down will be from midnight of Friday, February 26 to midnight of Saturday, 27 and this was revealed by the state’s Commissioner for Transportation, Frederick Oladeinde.

He made this disclosure to newsmen stating that this has become necessary as it would help the contractors to move the equipment used during the rehabilitation process off the bridge completely in order to allow both the Oworonsoki and Adeniji bound lanes to open fully.

He further disclosed that the closure is necessary having completed the replacement of twelve expansion joints and to demobilize the superstructure of the bridge as he urged motorists to use other routes during this period.
